About
Geoff Newman is a DVSA Approved Driving Instructor offering manual and automatic driving lessons in Sevenoaks and the surrounding villages. Born and raised in Sevenoaks, he passed his own test here in 1998 and teaches every lesson himself, on the roads he grew up on. Before teaching he spent over 20 years running businesses, so lessons start on time and everything runs smoothly. You can learn manual in Penny, his dual-controlled VW Polo, or automatic in Rene, his fully electric Renault 5. In 2026 so far, 87% of his learners' tests have passed, counting every attempt, compared with a Sevenoaks test centre average of about 59%. If you're feeling nervous, unsure or overwhelmed about learning to drive, you're not alone. Geoff is calm and patient, never sharp, and you stay in control of the pace. He also tailors lessons for people who already drive abroad and want to feel at home on UK roads. Please note Geoff doesn't hire out his car for tests, take people to test without lessons, or offer short-notice lessons.
